So, I’m generally pretty conservative about eating apples.  I don’t waste’em, but I also hate biting into that hard bit that surrounds the seed cup and gets caught between your teeth, so I give it plenty of berth.  However, I’ve taken to carrying an apple in my gym bag for post-workout gnoshing, and I have to tell you that when I finsih, I do not think it would be possible to remove any more actual apple meat from the core.  It’s not a ravenous devouring of the fruit, either.  I just stroll outside to gnaw on the apple and cool down, but when I looked at what I had done after the last few workouts, the remaining apple was apple in name only!  Go figure.  The strange things you do when you’re not thinking about it…

So, yeah… my elliptical remains broken!  The horror!.. but my bike and the treadmills remain available, so I do my thing.

On the treadmill, though, I find that I don’t quit because I’m exhausted or because my quads/gluts/calfs are screaming, but because it feels like that muscle that goes up the outside of my shin (especially on my left) is going to snap.  As I walk on the thing, that muscle just continues to tighten and tighten and tighten until it feels like It’s trying to pull my bone right out of the shine… which is weird because I don’t get that tightness at all when I walk outside… at all… so it’s very treadmill specific.  Not sure what to do about it though.

As per the strength training, I do:

  • Bent Chest raises
  • Bench presses
  • Chest Flies
  • Shoulder raises (lateral)
  • Bicep curls
  • and tricep extensions

Weight is not huge due to the damaged shoulder muscles but 2 sets of 15 reps leave my muscles feeling like they’ve completed their tasks.  I am beginning to notice a suspiciously well-defined bicep… though thanks to the increasingly flabby/hanging arm skin that notice is by touch…
