It’s probably just my personal insecurity, but I can’t shake the feeling that every time I walk through an ICU, the nurses see me and just figure I’m picking out my spot! 🙂  Not that they were anything but friendly and professional, of course… just my own proclivity towards self-centeredness and body shame eeking through… but yeah… I hate being in hospitals… but my brother was there, and he made it through surgery.  No transplant as they opted for multiple by-passes.  The waiting room was amusing.  Castle on one TV (but with the sound all the way down), and Maury on the other with the sound all the way up.  I’m pretty sure that those were the only channels that waiting room got, too…  I was ready to through a chair through one of the TVs by the time we left for home.  I’ll leave it as an exercise for the reader to decide which…

Today was a pretty good day.  A former co-worker arrived with homemade Paczkis for us.  They were unfilled, and I had forgotten my lunch, so I opted to snag one and was fairly amazed that one did not lead to two or three or… well, he only brought six.  Very thoughtful of him.  Thank you, Leo.  I won’t score any med diet points, but I did no harm, so no worries.

Food Intake:

  • Breakfast – Yogurt – 170 calories
  • Lunch – Homemade Paczki – uhm… 400 calories?
  • Dinner – Chicken, potato and salad – 900 calories
  • Evening snack – Don’t really have anything about so probably a banana or tomato slices with a bit of cheese – Not to exceed 300 calories

So just under 1800 calories.  Not bad.  Tomorrow will be a workout day, and next week I hope to up it to 5 days a week.  I *think* I’m ready to return to the gym and use some of their equipment as I am getting bored with just the bike.  I think my knee will handle the elliptical.
