So… it’s fair to say that by the time I headed home from my brother’s I was feeling fairly introspective and thinking that it was about time that I stopped screwing around and got back into it… but thinking isn’t always doing… my leg wasn’t ready to exercise, so how could I diet?!?

Then I pushed the elevator button at work.  Correction, while standing in the hallway holding the lunch I had just had delivered for the ENTIRE lab, I pushed the elevator button.  While I was waiting, a father approached with a baby in a carriage and a 2-3 year old in tow… and I MADE HER DAY!!!  I mean I blew this kids mind… she took one look at me and out comes the booty/potty line…

Over and over again….

…and again….

…and again…

…and again…

Into the elevator… up several floors and right up until the father told her she was being impolite as they were leaving the elevator.

Now, don’t get me wrong.  You can’t get mad at a three year old calling it as she sees it.  In fact, you really have to applaud her logic.

Hmmm…. I’m small and have a tiny little trainer potty.  Daddy, is grown up, and he has a grown up potty.  Goodness me, what size potty must he have?!?

The kid shows promise, and for the first couple minutes I was having a hard time controlling my laughter, but… Dad, really… maybe you could… you know… talk to her about something else?  Sing a rousing round of ‘Wheels on the Bus’?  Anything, really…. Oh good… someone else is getting on the elevator… that’ll help… no, no… you just keep up with the potty declarations… it’s all good.

So… yeah…. maybe time to really start getting back into it… better start planning some meals… Laurie really hates it when I stir fry bok choy…. hmmm…. what to do…

You’d think that was it, of course, but still one more poke to go… I’ll tell you about it tomorrow…

Food Intake:

  • Breakfast – Overslept – Yogurt – 190 calories
  • Lunch – Quaker Real Medley Oatmeal cup (walnuts and apples) – 290 calories
  • Dinner – Scratch made lo mein with orange chicken – calculated 1,000 cals, but let’s call it 1,200 for safety.
  • Evening snack – Dark chocolate mints – 150 calories

1830 calories total.  Not bad.  Oversleeping killed my workout time, but I’ll take care of that tomorrow.
