And now you know why I work digital.  But hey, that’s a good enough drawing for 30 seconds with a pen and a camera phone, right?!?

So Sunday was a bit of a bear.  The air conditioner is dead again, so the house was too hot to actually be able to sleep until about 3am Saturday morning.  This, of course, meant that we slept until… oh… about 1pm, just in time for the house to be stifling again.  Of course, I hobbled out of bed, and took care of the animals and just happened to check the phone to see that my daughter needed a ride from her friends house in Farmington-Farking-Hills in about 30 minutes.  [Editor’s Note:  For those of you not familiar with the greater Detroit area, even if I had been clean and dressed at that point there is no way I could make it to Farmington Hills in time.  Also, I needed gas.]

So, I hopped into the shower, through Laurie into the car and we headed out to get gas, and then get Brittany.  As we needed food, I drove through the McDonalds (Don’t worry, it’s not as bad as it sounds), and whizzed off to pick up Brit.

We then went to see Transformers 3 (also not as bad as it sounds, but I wouldn’t necessarily elevate it to good), and were all set to have steak for dinner.  The girls (Ashley and Brittany) like Faux-let Mignon (those bacon-wrapped tenderloin things from the grocery store), and Laurie and I were set with Chuck steaks (nothing fancy, but beefy goodness).  However, when I opened one of the Faux-lets… woof!  Smelled like road kill!  I’m not sure what bacteria had been at this thing (that I had just bought three days earlier and put immediately in the freezer), but there was no way I was going to let anyone eat it.  It went straight out to the dumpster.

Having four people to feed, and only three steaks, I opted instead to enjoy… salad… a lovely, lovely salad.  Which is fine normally, but kind of depressing when you are expecting steak night!

Regardless, let’s run the numbers!

Food Intake:

  • Breakfast – sleep before melting… – 0 calories
  • Lunch – McDouble, small fry – 620 calories
  • Afternoon snack – Baby Bel Cheddar – 75 calories
  • Dinner – Lettuce salad with roast potatoes, olives, guacamole, and balsamic – 425 calories

1120 calories total.  Not at all what I was planning, but considering the day, good enough.  I did also have four kernels of popcorn stolen from Brittany’s movie bag, but I’m just going to guess that they did not take me up to 2000 from 1120.

The salad was actually okay.  I did roasted red potatoes (quartered), and dropped my portion on the lettuce with some green olives and what not.  Yes, I ate the whole bag of shredded lettuce (a whopping 25 calories), and the girls got to enjoy green beans.

So… Sunday done.  Monday is weigh-in day.
