So, many of you know that I’m on the road this week, but I thought I’d better make mention here on the site.

I brought along the tabletpc in the vain hopes I could get some comic work done.  I know I’m spoiled by the Cintiq, but this thing is crap!  Serious, serious crap…

I’m not against tabletpcs in general, of course, just this particular one.  I used to use it, and love it, but it is having serious hardware problems, and get’s worse every day.  The wee little bit of drawing in this strip took about an hour because the pointer will just start randomly strolling across the screen as you attempt to draw.  Reboot, uninstall driver, reboot, install driver, wash, rinse, repeat until it lets you start drawing again.

So they’ve provided all meals… except dinner which they’ve provided gift cards for… none of them are great dieters choices, but the Cheesecake factory is the cream of the crop!  I’m not sure they even sell anything below 1500 calories.  I guess I’ll find out tomorrow, though…  Worse comes to worse, I can always get a burger and deconstruct it… no hidden sauces on a burger, right?

Food hasn’t been too much of a challenge.  As I have no insight on the prep, I’m not counting calories… just kind of estimating them as best I can.  My day goes something like this:

At 6:30am they provide a sticky bun-rich breakfast which I skip for the granola that I brought with me.  Snack break at about 10am where they offer chips, candy bars, cookies, crackers and fruit with cola and coffee.  I grab a banana and a glass of ice water.  Lunch at noon is buffet style.  I fill my plate with fruit and vegetables, add a few ounces of meat and stay away from the desserts…

…and these have been some desserts!  The cakes are works of art without resorting to fondant… mouthwatering and delightful, but I’ll pass…

2:30 snack break.  Same crap.  I grab and apple and ice water.

Dinner is out at wherever the gift card dictates.  I actually bypassed the gift card last night and just ran to Publix to pick up my own dinner supplies with known nutritional content.  This evening it was Shorty’s BBQ.

So. Very. Bad.

Just totally, unbelievably bad.

…and clearly not actual BBQ…

…and just really, really bad…

On the plus side, low calorie count…

Home on Friday.
