So, for those of you who haven’t been following along over on Slightly Off-Topic, yes, I tore both my ACL and my MCL, and yes, it’s caused a lot of pain, and yes, I let that totally derail my progress.  I’ve gained some weight back (no not all the weight, but enough of it), I’ve indulged in some bad food choices, I’ve wallowed a bit…

Now, I will admit that exercise has been a key, if not the key, element to my recent success, but…

All or nothing…  I wonder how many diets fail annually because someone is clinging to an all or nothing philosophy.  Certainly I have always operated that way.  It’s a habit I’m going to have to break.

So, I’ve spent this week making (mostly) successful food choices, and getting an exercise plan together that will work, so regular comics will begin again on Monday (I know because I’ve already drawn them… working from a buffer, what a beautiful thing).  Updates in the evening as per usual once I’ve finished my eating for the day.

As for the knee, I’ve got two physical therapy visits left to go.  I walk with a mild limp, and can sit at a desk long enough to draw a comic or two.  The top of the tibia is still very, very sore to touch, but I’m told that will improve if I can get the cartilage to continue to grow back (glucosamine for the win).  The therapist said I can go ahead and plan on doing some runs, but that I needed to balance that with other activities… which is fine as I’ve been feeling like doing a century or two this year.  Bike love 4-evah!

So… here we go again…
