So, I left the house at 6am with 78 degrees and 89% humidity. By the time I went to bed, the temp was in the high 80′s and the humidity was at 100%… Of course the air conditioner is still on the fritz, so not only was all that humidity inside, but the upstairs was well into the 90′s. Sleep has been a rare occurrence lately…
In any case, I guess that 5 pounds from Chicago was mostly water weight (I did feel…swollen) because a glance at the ticker will show that I’ve just hit 75 pounds lost! That’s another three after thinking I was plus 5. I did feel the need to verify with the scale at the docs, and we’re still in agreement, so that’s cool.
They really must fix the air though. I’m dying here.
Let’s run the numbers…
- Breakfast – granola bar and banana – 260 calories
- Lunch – Gazpacho and Greek salad – 400 calories
- Afternoon snack – Baby Bel Cheddar – 75 calories
- Dinner – Pork Chop, stuffing, and broccoli – 700 calories
- Evening snack – ice cream – 260 calories
1695 calories total which is not too bad. I’ve decided that I don’t get gazpacho though… it’s like eating a big bowl of salsa. If I wanted salsa, I’d just have that… but whatever.
Stifling heat and humidity, but I opted to walk anyway. From home to Central Campus and from North Campus to home. 9.82 miles total for 2293 calories burned. I did, however, have a bit of a walking fail. I didn’t bring any water with me for the hike home, and what works in the spring and fall, doesn’t necessarily work in the summer. I knew that I’d over extended when keeping a straight line on tilted walks became problematic. You can see it above where my HR is much higher than it should be for flats and down hills. At that point I ducked through the shaded woods and bee-lined it home as best as I could. Much water was drank upon my arrival. None the less, home and hydrated and that’s a good thing.
So… total for the day: 1695 calories in minus 2293 calories walking for a daily total of -598 calories (if you trust those exercise numbers).
